This beautiful spot is outside of Jemez, New Mexico a short drive from Albuquerque. This hike is a real butt kicker especially if you don’t slow down and take your time at over 9000 feet in elevation. You will be greeted with several pools of warm water and a view of this valley below the spring that will make your jaw drop.
Its located about five miles down a dirt road that I spent thirty minutes driving. It could be done quicker but why tear up my car or the road worse than need be.
This photo is taken on my first trip to San Antonio Hot Springs which I am currently hoping was not my last. I showed up here in the national forest to go camping and find my friend Amrit already camping remotely somewhere in this vast wilderness. I had some clues and in the end it’s the hotsprings themselves that allowed me to find him.
